Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara
Leave Nairobi for Masai Mara Game Reserve, picnic lunch en-route.
On arrival spend the late afternoon bird spotting in the vast reserve
where there is plenty of birds species to see including the plains
wide variety of wild game.
Dinner and overnight in Masai Mara.
Day 2: Masai Mara
Full day bird watching and game viewing in the Mara with an option
nature walk or visit to a nearby Masai village in between the meal
breaks.

Day 3: Masai Mara - Naivasha
After breakfast, leave for Lake Naivasha. After lunch, visit Hells
Gate National Park famous for its natural steaming geysers and a
haven for bird watchers. And the Geothermal power plant.

Day 4: Naivasha
All day spent in Hells Gate National Park looking for common and
rare birds. Explore the rich, bird filled gardens and optional boat
ride to the crescent island.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha - Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, explore the rich, bird filled gardens or an optional
boat ride to the crescent island (at an extra cost). Proceed to
Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch. Lake Nakuru
is a home of millions of flamingos and the home of the white rhino
and about 350 different species of birds. Its known as: ORNITHOLOGICAL
PARADISE.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru - Lake Baringo/Bogoria
After breakfast, and bird watching en route drive to Lake Baringo
one of the two fresh water lakes along the Great Rift Valley. Lake
Baringo supports an enormous number of bird species and a large
number of hippos. Arrive in Lake Baringo in time for lunch. After
lunch take a one-hour bird watching trip by boat to the crescent
island and to view hippos too. At the island you can take optional
excursions like a visit to the njemps village and dancing or to
the local snake farm. Afternoon visit Lake Bogoria a shallow soda
lake home to a large number of birds and the rare lesser kudu. Scalding
hot springs and geysers at the southern end of the lakes spurt and
steam their alkaline waters. The bubbling of hot springs, hundreds
of singing weaverbirds and a million flamingos feeding in the bluish
water present a rare scenic beauty.
Dinner and overnight in Nakuru.
Day 7: Nakuru - Treetops
After breakfast leave for Treetops via Thompson falls to arrive
at Outspan Hotel (the base for Treetops) in time for lunch. The
current British Queen was holidaying at the Treetops when she received
the news about her ascension to the throne. After lunch you will
be transferred to treetops, which is in the Aberdares National Park.
Dinner and overnight at the tree hotel. Game viewing from your room’s
balcony, where you have a fantastic view of the birds and animals
that flock the floodlit waterhole and saltlick below.
Day 8: Treetops - Samburu
After breakfast, leave for Samburu and arrive in time for lunch.
Evening game drive.
Day 9: Samburu
Early morning bird watching and game drive. After breakfast day
spent at leisure. Evening game drive is ideal for spotting different
bird species and the lioness famous for its unusual ability to adopt
various antelopes especially the Oryx.
Dinner and overnight at lodge / campsite.
Day 10: Samburu - Nairobi
After breakfast, have a game drive en route to Nairobi. Stop at
the Thika Falls for the last opportunity to spot birds and arrive
in the evening.
Option Beach
The coast of Kenya offers excellent opportunities to watch and study
different species of birds, especially migratory birds that can be
found even in Europe during their migration. The option for extra
3-5-7 days on the coast is available on all itineraries.
Main locations on the coast are Mombasa, Malindi, Lamu, Diani Beach,
Watamu, Tiwi. We especially recommend Watamy and Mida Creek where
you will assist a famous ornithologist in counting and studying over
100 species of birds.
