Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel and
leave for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, eating lunch en route. The
drive takes us past the viewpoint over the Great Rift Valley. Arrive
in time for an afternoon game drive in this pristine, unequalled
‘big game country’.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge /camp-site.
Day 2: Masai Mara
After an early breakfasat, you will spend the day tracking game
with your guide, after an early breakfast. The Masai Mara’s
landscape is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills, which
enables the reserve to attract sufficient rainfall to maintain
and support a large population of herbivores, together with the
predators that follow. Elephant, lion and buffalo can be seen
with relative ease, although luck is a necessary factor for spotting
rhino and leopard – the animals that complete the big five
- as there are few of them, and they are very timid. Common sights
include plains game, such as wildebeest, zebra and Masai giraffe,
as well as hippos and a wide variety of antelopes. We will cater
for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool.
At around 4:30pm you will get to choose between between a game
drive, nature walk escorted by our armed Masai guides or a visit
to a local Masai village to see their nomadic lifestyle; the Masai
are famous for their bravery, as they have co-existed with the
animals over the years.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Naivasha / Hell's Gate
After breakfast, choose between a nature walk escorted by our
armed Masai guides or visit to a Masai village. Early lunch at
the lodge or camp-site. After lunch, we will leave Masai Mara
for Lake Naivasha, designated a Wetland of International Importance.
A papyrus-lined freshwater lake, it is surrounded by fever tree
acacias. Animal sightings commonly include hippos, giraffe, buffalo
and colobus monkeys. The lake also boasts over 400 species of
bird. Hell's Gate national park is one of the only two parks in
Kenya where you can walk or cycle without a ranger.
Night in Lake Naivasha
Day 4: Naivasha / Hell's Gate – Nakuru
Morning game drive or nature walk/cycling. In the afternoon proceed
to Lake Nakuru for dinner and night.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge / budget hotel.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Amboseli
Early morning game drive in the park. The major attraction of
the 188 square kilometer Lake Nakuru park is the pink flamingos.
You will also see various water birds that breed in the lake’s
salty water including white pelicans and marabou stork. White
rhino may be seen as well as the rare Rothschild’s giraffe
and cape buffalo. After the game drive we will depart for Amboseli
National Park. Lunch en-route.
Dinner and overnight in a lodge or in a camp-site.
Day 6: Amboseli
Today comprises of game drives around the park, made fascinating by
the swamp grounds where elephants and hippos congregate in abundance.
You will then have the opportunity to visit the observation hill where
you will look out for Mt. Kilimanjaro’s peak if weather conditions
permit. A variety of plains game, antelopes and birds can also be
seen. This will be followed by lunch and a leisure break at the lodge
in the mid afternoon. Rest of meals and overnight at a lodge / camp-site.
Day 7: Amboseli – Tsavo West
After breakfast, proceed for another game drive in the park. After
lunch depart for Tsavo West.

Day 8: Tsavo West
Today includes a visit to the Shaitani lava flows, evidence of
the area’s volcanic origins. Attractions include the Mzima
Springs, where you can see various species of marine life including
hippos, crocodile and fish through the specially constructed underground
glass wall. Other animals resident at Tsavo are elephant, gazelle,
zebra, giraffe, various birds, buffalo, and kudu.

Day 9: Tsavo West - Tsavo East
After breakfast take a morning game drive where you are like to see
rock hyrax, squirrels and mongooses. We then depart for Tsavo East
National Park, eating lunch en route. Here, only the section south
of the Galana River is open to the public for game drives; the rest
of the park serves as a wilderness retreat for the animals. Here the
dried up Aruba dam can be seen, and you can see crocodiles at the
crocodile point below the Lugard falls. Dinner and overnight at the
lodge / camp-site.
Day 10: Tsavo East - Mombasa
After breakfast, you will take a game drive during which you may see
plains game, zebra, antelope, lesser kudu, ostrich and large herds
of elephant. Lunch will be taken en route to Mombasa, where we will
arrive in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the lodge / budget-hotel.
Day 11: Mombasa
You have the day at your leisure in Mombasa. Various activities
can be organised, including cultural tours of the old town, which
has similar for architecture to Stone Town in Zanzibar, a day
on the beach, different water sports and more.

Day 12: Mombasa – Shymba Hills
In the morning we will drive to Shymba Hills National Reserve.
The Shymba Hills is a pristine wonderland of meadows and forests
of giant trees, and harbours a wide variety of wildlife, including
some 500 elephant, lions and leopard. But the most distinctive
of the Shymba Hills National Reserve's many species is the rare
and impressive Sable antelope.

Day 13: Shymba Hills - Chyulu Hills
Immediately after breakfast we will drive to the Chyulu Hills
National Park, which comprises the undisturbed eastern flank of
the hills, including about half of the forest area. The park boundary
runs down the centre of the hills along the line of the peaks.
You will explore the park for breathtaking views from the Chyulu
hills, and have the opportunity for some cave exploration.

Day 14: Chyulu Hills - Nairobi
Morning at leasure in the park. Lunch will be taken en route to Nairobi,
where we will arrive in the evening.
