5 days program
Day 1: Arusha – Eyasi - Ngorongoro
We will pick you up from you hotel and drive to Lake Eyasi for a brief interaction with local communities. Lake Eyasi is a salt lake lying between the Eyasi escarpment in the north and the Kidero mountains in the south. Its a hot, dry area, around which the Hadzabe live. It is believed that the Hadzabe have lived here for nearly 10,000 years. Their lifestyle still centres around hunting and gathering. Also in the area are other communities, as well as Masai and various Bantu groups.
In the afternoon drive to Ngorongoro conservation area, the "eighth wonder of the world". Ngorongoro crater is the largest unbroken volcanic crater on earth. We will check in at the campsite or lodge, from where you will have a stunning view of the crater.
Dinner and overnight in campsite or lodge.

Day 2: Ngorongoro
At sunrise you will start descending the crater's unbroken caldera which shelters one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in the world. The floor of this collapsed volcano spreads for 102 square miles and the walls are 600 metres high - a truly awesome sight. The crater floor is a virtual "Noah's Ark", inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa, including the endangered black rhino. The crater contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake complete with flamingos, a forest and open plains.
Around 9am you will have a stop at the crater picnic site near the hippo pool for breakfast. Then you will continue with game viewing till around 1pm when you will start to ascend the crater. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the lodge or campsite.

Day 3: Ngorongoro – Lake Natron
After breakfast drive to Lake Natron, a 60 km long alkaline lake known for the huge flocks of flamingos that gather at certain parts of the lake at the end of the rainy season. Lake Natron has no outlet so its size varies dramatically between seasons.

After visiting Lake Natron, you will need to rest in the afternoon to prepare for the climb up Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai, known by the Masai people as the “mountain of god”. Mt Lengai is an active craters on the eastern border of Ngorongoro Conservation Area, famous all around the world for being the only active volcano to erupt white carbonate lava that closely resembles fresh snow.
The climb will start at midnight.

Day 4: Lengai – Natron
You will reach the top of Mt. Lengai in time for sunrise. From here, if the day is clear, you can have magnificent view of Empakai crater, Mt Meru and Mt Kilimanjaro and some parts of Rift Valley. Then you will climb down, after which you can visit the waterfalls, or just relax.
Dinner and overnight in campsite or lodge.

Day 5: Natron – Manyara – Arusha
You will arise before sunrise for breakfast, after which you will drive to lake Manyara in time for short lunch and a quick game drive. This beautiful park with its lush vegetation and tropical forests of giant fig and mahogany trees takes its name from the Maasai word for "euphorbia tirucalli", a bush which is used to make a thorny hedge to protect their cattle. Elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and a variety of antelope inhabit the park, together with a variety of monkeys and a large population of hippos. If you are lucky you may see the Manyara lions, well known for their tree climbing habits, lazily resting on the branches of an "Acacia tortilis" tree. The birdlife is also abundant, with flamingos, pelicans, hornbills and plenty of forest species.
In the afternoon we will return to Arusha.
